We built Thundercat Pediatric Dentistry to be the pediatric dental practice we always wished existed.

This is a place for kids to feel comfortable, capable, and cared for. We make room for questions, big feelings, and plenty of high-fives while giving parents thoughtful, expert guidance at every step.

Dr. Brian Park

A pediatric dentist who believes excellent care starts with trust.

Dr. Brian Park studied biochemistry at McGill University and earned his dental degree at NYU College of Dentistry. He completed advanced hospital training at Montefiore and a pediatric dentistry residency at Woodhull Medical Center.

After years caring for children in upstate New York, he opened Thundercat to give Brooklyn families a warm, imaginative dental home grounded in thoughtful clinical care.

General Treatment

When cavities or minor dental issues happen, we provide age-appropriate, conservative care using tooth-colored fillings. We keep every step clear, simple, and comfortable for both you and your child.

Sedation Dentistry

Designed for children who feel nervous or need extra help sitting through treatment. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and conscious sedation from day one, with IV sedation via a pediatric anesthesiologist coming soon.

Special Needs Dentistry

Every child deserves a patient, gentle approach. We adapt our pace, sensory environment, and communication style to support children with diverse physical, developmental, or emotional needs.

Emergency Care

From chipped teeth and sudden toothaches to playground bumps, our team is ready to provide fast, compassionate relief. We handle urgent dental needs with quick solutions when your family needs it most.

Sports Mouthguards

Keep young athletes safe on the field, court, or mat. We create custom-fitted mouthguards that offer superior protection against dental injuries while remaining comfortable enough for kids to speak and breathe easily.

Space Maintainers & Habit Appliances

Custom devices designed to protect gaps from early tooth loss or help children gently transition away from thumb-sucking and tongue-thrusting to support healthy jaw development and proper tooth eruption.

When should my child first see a dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first visit when the first tooth appears or by the first birthday. Early visits help children get comfortable and give parents a head start on prevention.

What happens at a first visit?

We move at your child’s pace. A typical visit includes time to settle in, a gentle exam, cleaning when appropriate, and a conversation about brushing, diet, development, and any questions you have.

Do you accept dental insurance?

We participate with many major PPO dental plans. Benefits and network status can vary by employer and plan, so our team will help you verify coverage before treatment.

Do you offer nitrous oxide or sedation?

Yes. We offer nitrous oxide and conscious sedation, and IV sedation with a pediatric anesthesiologist is coming soon. Dr. Park will review your child’s health, comfort, and treatment needs before recommending an appropriate option.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

Call us as soon as possible for a toothache, injury, swelling, or a knocked-out tooth. If your child has trouble breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, or a serious head injury, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Can you care for children with special healthcare needs?

Yes. Please tell us what helps your child feel safe and successful. We can plan extra time, sensory considerations, and an approach tailored to their needs.
